Linking members to a RouteYou group has several perks. You can share private routes visible only to group members, chat privately via group messages, and get notifications when someone comments in the group. Depending on your membership type, you’ll have more or fewer rights to manage or edit routes. Communication and teamwork within a group stay simple and clear.
This is only possible via the website.
Management
- Open the group's page
- Click the
Edit button.
- In the menu, choose
Members.
There you’ll see all members and their role: Owner, Manager or Member.
- Go to the member list (see above).
- Click below on
Add.
- Choose how to add someone:
- by name: type their username in the search bar and select the right person.
- by email: enter the email address of the person you want to add.

The next steps differ depending on whether the person already has a RouteYou account:

-
No RouteYou account yet
-
They’ll receive a one-time email with:
- An invitation to register and join your group.
- A link to the group (only relevant for public groups).
- A link to a RouteYou info page.
If they don’t register or confirm, no account is created, no membership is activated, and RouteYou won’t use the email for anything else.
-

Owner: created the group and has full rights.
