As an author, you can indicate how highly you rate a route you've created or completed. After all, not every route you make is a masterpiece—some are purely practical (like a daily commute), while others are real gems. With the Author route score, you can assign your own rating to your route.
How does this score work?
- Part of the overall route score: Your personal rating counts as one of the factors used to calculate the overall route score on RouteYou.
- Not identical to the overall score: RouteYou's overall route score looks at a wide range of parameters (such as road surface, surroundings, reviews, and features). Your author score influences this rating, but doesn't determine it completely.
How do you set the score?
- Open your route on the RouteYou website.
- At the bottom of the information column, click the
'More' button.
- Choose
Edit and click
Basic info.
- Scroll to the Author route score field and select your rating (1 to 5 stars).
- Click Confirm at the bottom.
Guidelines for choosing a score
Use the guidelines below to give your route a fair rating:
- 5 stars: Among the top 10% of all routes you've made or completed.
- 4 stars: In the top 20% of your routes.
- 3 stars: In the top 50% of your routes.
- 2 stars: A decent route, but nothing extraordinary.
- 1 star: Doable, but not ideal (e.g., heavy traffic or poor road surface, like a purely functional route).
