The basic dashboard is split into five sections. Almost everything is interactive: clicking on charts filters the related lists.
-
ROUTES BY TYPE
This section shows how your route offer is spread across different activities (like hiking, road cycling, mountain biking, …).- Your routes vs. saved routes: Two separate pie charts show the breakdown by type for routes you created and routes you saved from other authors.
- Comparison bar chart: See, per type, the ratio between your own routes and saved routes.
-
Dynamic list: The list of most viewed routes next to it updates instantly when you click a specific type in one of the pie charts.
-
ROUTES BY COUNTRY
This section gives you insight into the geographic spread of your own and saved routes.- Country breakdown: Interactive pie charts show which countries your own and saved routes are in.
- Bar chart: An overview of the ratio between your own routes and saved routes per country.
-
Location-based list: Click a country in a pie chart to see the most viewed routes for that specific country.
-
MOST VIEWED ROUTES
Here you get a detailed view of your reach.- Time filter: Choose between “This month” or “All time” at the top. The horizontal bar charts and the route list update right away.
- Hover details: Hover over a bar in the chart to see the exact number of views per route.
-
List view: Below the chart, you’ll find a compact list of route info, tailored to the selected period.
-
CREATED ROUTES TREND
This chart shows your activity as an author over time. Per month, you can see how many routes you created or uploaded. It’s a great way to track your own productivity.
-
AUTHOR SCORE POSITION
The author score reflects the quality and popularity of your work on RouteYou.- Status & progress: See your current score, your title, and how many points you still need to reach the next level.
- Your position: A ranking list with your account in the middle, including the 5 authors just above you and the 5 just below you.
-
Earning points: A handy overview with tips on what you can do to further improve your author score and visibility.
Do you have a RouteYou Pro or Enterprise account? Then you’ll get access to the “More statistics” module at the bottom of your dashboard. This lets you run deeper analyses and back up your success with solid numbers.

HOW TO REQUEST SPECIFIC DATA?
In this section, you can build your own reports by combining the following filters:- Selection (What): Choose whether you want to see stats for all your routes together or search the list for one specific route.
- Period (When): Choose from several preset periods (last 3 months, 6 months, 2 years, 5 years, or 10 years) or set your own start and end date.
- Sampling (Interval): Choose how you want the data grouped on the timeline: per day, week, month, or year.
-
Values (Visualization): The bar chart shows the following four values. You can toggle each one on or off in the legend to include or exclude it from the chart, making it easy to compare them at a glance:
Route views website: Visits via the (mobile) RouteYou website.
Route views app: Usage and views inside the RouteYou app.
Route downloads: How often GPX files were downloaded (app + web).
Website prints: How often a print was generated.
Hover over a bar in the chart to see the exact numbers for that specific interval.
-
EXPORT TO CSV
Want to use the numbers in your own report or analyze them externally? You can export all requested data to a CSV file with a single click. The file opens easily in tools like Excel or Google Sheets.
Frequently asked questions
Not all specific metrics (like the difference between app views and website views) have been available since the very beginning of RouteYou. For some data, numbers are only shown from the moment tracking for that specific value was activated.
Want to give your numbers and author score a boost? Try this:
- Quality: Give your routes a strong title and a detailed description. Routes with high-quality photos and interesting POIs get a better route score and are viewed and shared more often.
- Features: Add the right themes and features to your routes so they show up in the right search filters.
- Submit as a recommendation: High-quality routes can be submitted as a ‘recommended route’ to get extra visibility in search results.
- External promotion: Share your routes on social media or add them to your own website or blog using the RouteYou plugins.
