The net ascent of a route is the difference between the total number of meters you climb and the number of meters you descend. For a loop route (where the start and end points are the same), the net ascent is basically zero, since you climb as much as you descend. NOTE: Due to small rounding errors, this may sometimes slightly differ from 0.
