You can use the RouteYou app on your Apple Watch or on a smartwatch with Wear OS by Google. Pick the right tab below and follow the steps to install the app.
Before you start
- Pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone
- Make sure both devices are up to date
- Install the app on your iPhone first
STEP 1 – Install the app on your iPhone
(if you haven’t already)
- Open the App Store on your iPhone
- Search for the app (e.g. RouteYou)
- Tap Download or the cloud icon
STEP 2 – Open the Watch app on your iPhone
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone (pre-installed by Apple)
- Scroll down to see the list of available apps
STEP 3 – Install the app on your Apple Watch
- Find the app in the list (e.g. RouteYou)
- Tap Install next to the app
- Wait for the installation to finish
GOOD TO KNOW
Sometimes the app installs automatically if it’s compatible. You can manage this via the Watch app: Settings General Automatic App Install.
STEP 4 – Open the app on your Apple Watch
- Press the digital crown to open the app overview
- Tap the icon of the installed app
- Done! You can now use the app from your wrist
HAVING TROUBLE?
- Can’t see the app? Restart your iPhone and Apple Watch
- Check if there’s enough storage on your Watch
- Make sure the app supports Apple Watch (like RouteYou does)
Before you start
- Your smartwatch runs on Wear OS by Google
- Your smartwatch is paired with your Android phone (or iPhone)
- Both devices are up to date
- The app is already installed on your phone (if applicable)
STEP 1 – Install the app on your phone
- Open the Google Play Store on your phone
- Search for the app (e.g. RouteYou)
- Tap Install
Some apps install automatically on your smartwatch. If not, go to step 2.
STEP 2 – Install the app on your smartwatch
Option 1 – Via your smartwatch
- Open the Play Store on your smartwatch
- Tap Search
- Search for the app (e.g. RouteYou)
- Tap Install
Option 2 – Via your phone
- Open the Play Store on your phone
- Search for the app (e.g. RouteYou)
- Tap the arrow next to Install
- Select your smartwatch from the list of devices
- Confirm the installation
STEP 3 – Open the app on your smartwatch
- Press the side button on your smartwatch to open the app menu
- Find the icon of the installed app
- Tap it to start – and you’re good to go!
HAVING TROUBLE?
- Can’t see the app? Restart your smartwatch and phone
- Check if your smartwatch has internet (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth)
- Make sure your smartwatch is compatible (Wear OS 3.0 or newer recommended)
