RouteYou Royalty-free Route Map

The RouteYou royalty‑free route map is a specially optimized map of your route, designed for unlimited publication in both print (books, magazines, brochures) and online.

IMPORTANT
This product covers the map usage rights, but not the copyright of the route
You may only use the royalty‑free map for routes you own or have created, or for which you hold the rights.
Therefore, the royalty‑free map option is only available for your own routes.

This option is only available through the website.

Available for free with a RouteYou Premium subscription.

How do I purchase a RouteYou royalty‑free route map?
  1. Go to a route you own or created.
  2. Click “Print” and choose a print type (e.g., Overview).
  3. Click “More options” and under “Usage,” select “Royalty‑free.”
  4. Depending on your account type, you'll either see the payment option or be able to download the map for free. You may also request an invoice.

IMPORTANT
Always check that “Royalty‑free use” is explicitly stated in the print options. This confirms that RouteYou has secured the rights for the background map.
For example: Belgian topographic maps do not mention this and therefore cannot be used for royalty‑free publication.

Use cases

With the royalty‑free route map, you enjoy complete freedom:

  • Print: Produce unlimited prints for publications such as books, magazines, and brochures.

  • Sales: You may give away or sell the map without incurring extra fees (the price is fixed).

  • Online: Publish the map on your website or in newsletters with no limit on the number of views.

Who is it for?

PUBLISHERS
You publish a magazine, newspaper, or book and want to include a RouteYou route with a map.

  • No copyright hassle: You're looking for an alternative because standard maps (like Google Maps) can't be used in print.

  • Unlimited with a fixed price: You may not know how many copies you'll distribute (100, 1,000, 10,000...). This product solves that: you pay a single fixed price and may use the map without restrictions.

EVENT ORGANIZERS
You organize an event (bike ride or hiking route) and want to include the route in a flyer or booklet (free or paid).

  • Purchase the RouteYou royalty‑free map of your route(s) and include it in your publication.
