The overview map presents the route on a single map sheet. It is intended to give users an indication of the full route. This map is ideal for use during events. In some cases, the overview is also suitable for completing the route itself—for example, if it's a short route of 5 to 10 km or if it's printed as a poster in A1 or A0 format.
Printing routes and maps is available for users with a RouteYou Plus account or higher.
How to download?

- Click at the bottom of the left column on
and then on Overview.
- Click on Download.
Options per account type
The overview map is accessible to every RouteYou user. However, additional print options depend on your account level:
With a Plus account you have the following options:
- Print your route on a standard A4 format or smaller.
- Choose the orientation of your map: portrait or landscape.
- Choose the output format: a PDF or an image (PNG format).
- If available, you can print the route on a topographic background. Note (!) Printing on a topographic map is intended for individual, personal use only. For large print runs, such as for events, royalties must be paid.
- Choose whether or not to display the locations of linked points of interest.
With a Premium account or higher you can choose to:
- Print your route on a larger paper format than standard A4.
- Change the style of your map to Contrast, Accent, Bright, Gray, or Retro.
- Adjust the layout of your map:
- Print the map with or without a title.
- Choose whether or not to include the elevation profile. If omitted, more space is available for the map itself.
- Optionally display kilometer markers on the map. The number and spacing depend on the route length.
- For node-based routes, choose whether or not to display the nodes on the map.
-
Street names on the map: If desired, a limited number of street names can be shown. These may help with orientation.
