Printing routes and maps is available for users with a RouteYou Plus account or higher.

Overview

The overview map displays the entire route on a single map sheet. This overview is designed to give users a clear idea of the full route.
This map is ideal for use at events. In some cases, the overview can also be used to follow the route — for example, if it’s a short route of 5 to 10 km, or if it’s printed as a Posterprint in A1 or A0 format (see below).

Roadbook

Unlike the overview map, the roadbook is designed to be used while navigating. The route is split into smaller, more detailed map sections. A list of street names and instructions is also included.

Guide

The guide presents the route in the form of an extensive brochure packed with information. It includes details about points of interest along the route, giving you everything you need for an optimal experience.

Node Strip

The node strip only shows the sequence of node numbers to follow, printed in a compact format. It’s similar to a simplified version of the instruction list from the roadbook.

Posterprint

This digital map allows you to print your selected route with the RouteYou map or a topographic map as background. The map is optimized for high resolution, making it perfect for printing in A0 format or smaller (such as A1 or A2).

Poster-size printing is available with a RouteYou Premium account. Don’t have a Premium account? You can also purchase the posterprint separately.

  Frequently Asked Questions

Why am I getting a blank printout?

The route print isn’t working — I’m getting a blank (white) page. What’s going on?

For very long routes (several hundred kilometers), the print may fail because it takes too long to generate all instructions and map sections. A better approach is to split the full route into multiple stages. That way, you can generate a separate printout for each stage.

How can I print multiple routes on one map?

You can do this using the group print feature.

How can I adjust the color and shape of my route on a print?

If you change the visualization of a route, the color in the printout will also be updated.
