With shareable links, you can selectively share private routes and private events with a specific audience while keeping them hidden from others. This provides a convenient way to share exclusive content without making it public.

A shareable link is a URL to a private route or event. Normally, only the author can view it, but with a shareable link, a specific audience can access it without making the route or event public.
A shareable link is useful for authors or organizations who want to share a route or event with a select audience, such as members or registered participants, while keeping it hidden from others.
This can only be done via the website.
Generating a shareable link
-
Go to the route or event on the website.
-
Click the Edit button and select 'Basic Data'.
-
In the Visibility section, select 'Private'.
A shareable link now pops up automatically.
Finding and sharing the shareable link
You can find the shareable link in two places:
- For a route, at the top of the Route Information section, and for an event, under the author mention.
You can click the shareable link, and a pop-up will appear from which you can directly copy the link.
- Go back to the Edit button and select Basic Data. In the Visibility section, you will now see the URL of the shareable link. Copy and share the link with whomever you want.
There's one more option:
-
Generate new shareable link: useful if the link has been shared too many times and you want to generate a new one. The old shareable link will no longer work, but you can share the new link again.
Note! The old link will no longer work. QR codes on old prints will also no longer work unless you make the route public.

- Private route without shareable link: When someone opens this link, they will see a message that they do not have permission to view the page.
- Private route with shareable link: Anyone with this link can view the route, even though it is set to 'Private'.
