Discover how our route score — and thus route quality — help you find the best route. At RouteYou, we rate each route with a star score from 0 to 5 stars. This score is based on various parameters and is evaluated against different criteria, both content-wise and functionally. So, the route score is a visualization and confirmation of the quality of a route.
Although the author or publisher of a route remains responsible for its quality, RouteYou does everything possible to inform both the end user and the author about that quality. That's why there are several modules on the RouteYou platform that contribute to a clear quality guarantee of routes.
You can find the route score both in the app and on the website, on each route info card and on the detail page of each route.
The route score is determined based on a set of evaluation criteria.
In general, you can deduce the following from the route score:
-
0 stars = not verified
We don't have enough information to mark this route as "reliable." This doesn't mean the route is bad, just that we don't have enough info to make a statement about it.
More information about route verification.
For these routes, you won't see a 'verified' iconbehind the route name on the route detail page.
-
1 star = verified
From 1 star, we can confirm that the route is verified. This means the route is "doable" and the roads used are suitable for the indicated route type.
For these routes, you will see a 'verified' iconbehind the route name on the route detail page.
-
3 stars or more = Recommended
The better the evaluation criteria are met, the higher the route score. Routes that score high after evaluation get the "recommended" label.
A higher route score increases the visibility of the route in searches: in the route finder, in the 'routes nearby' section, in RouteYou Selections... This means the route is easier to find by RouteYou users.
LOGIC: Good work is rewarded!
A user searching for routes is more likely to find good routes rather than bad ones or routes we know nothing about.
An author or organization designing a route can easily promote the area and/or products linked to this route.
