Discover how to easily upload and download GPX files to your Mio GPS device. The steps below will guide you step by step in managing and synchronising your routes and tracks, so you're always prepared. Learn more about using MioShare for a seamless experience with your Mio GPS.
This method is recommended by MIO itself but is currently only usable for the latest devices of the CycloTM Discover Series.
- Go to www.mioshare.com
- Log in or sign up
- Click the orange button at the top right and select Account
- Go to the Synchronization Settings
- Click next to the RouteYou logo on Link my account to connect with RouteYou
- Enter the email address of your RouteYou account and create the link
- You will now receive an email from RouteYou with a link to complete the connection
- A. MIO DISCOVER PLUS: Wireless synchronization is only possible with the Discover Plus. Check on the device if the wifi-sync function is enabled via Main Menu > Settings > WIFI-sync..
B. MIO DISCOVER: For the Discover, synchronization is done via Mio's CycloAgent software. After logging in, download it from www.mioshare.com/help. Now connect your device to your PC via a USB cable and open the CycloAgent Software. It will then check if there are new routes available to be transferred. - You can now view your routes from your device via Tours
Or watch this video to see how it's done.
Note! Your Cyclo recordings will now also be synchronized with your RouteYou account.
If this automatic method fails, you can use the manual method.
There are a few steps you can take if you experience problems with synchronization with Mioshare:
- Log out of Mioshare and try again
- Go to the Synchronization Settings, disconnect RouteYou and reconnect RouteYou and Mioshare
This method only applies to the following devices: Mio Cyclo305 (& other devices of the Cyclo series)
- Go to the RouteYou website & select a route + select the download page of that route (see here an example of a download page)
- Click on the GPX file on the download page to save it to your PC
- Remember where you saved the file (usually in the Download directory of your user account)
- Connect a mini-USB/USB cable from your Mio GPS to your PC
- Turn on your Mio GPS
- Activate Windows File Manager (shortcut WindowsButton + e)
- You will see that you have two extra locations: devices with Removable Storage: Mio_system(X) and Mio_data (Y). X and Y are just examples of possible names.
- Select Mio_data
- Select the sub-directory on Mio_data where the TRACKs are stored. This is /Dodge/tracks/
- Copy the file you saved in Step 1 to this directory
- Disconnect the GPS from the PC
- From your Home menu of the Mio GPS, select Navigate
- From the Navigate menu of the Mio GPS, select Tracks
- You will now see a list of tracks, including the one you just downloaded. Click on that route (track) and follow the further options on the device
