Log in with your Mediahuis newspaper account

As a subscriber of one of the Irish Independent or Mediahuis news brands listed above, you may be eligible to enjoy all RouteYou Plus benefits for free (worth €35.99 a year). Eligibility depends on your subscription type and is only valid as long as your newspaper subscription remains active.

Please have your Irish Independent or Mediahuis login details ready. You will need these. 

 

Depending on whether you already have a RouteYou account or not, you'll enter a different flow. 

I am new to RouteYou

If you are new to RouteYou, we will use the email address linked to your Irish Independent or Mediahuis account and you only need to choose a RouteYou username. 

  Step 1: Go to 'Log in', choose 'Log in with Irish Independent or Mediahuis newspaper' and fill in the correct data.

 Step 2: choose a RouteYou username

 Stap 3: Please indicate if you wish to receive the RouteYou newsletter, then agree to the terms of use and the privacy policy and confirm. 


  You can now use RouteYou with all the benefits of a RouteYou Plus account

 

I already have a RouteYou account
  1. USING A DIFFERENT MAIL ADDRESS THAN MY IRISH INDEPENDENT OR MEDIA HOUSE ACCOUNT

    If you already have a RouteYou account linked to a different email address from your Irish Independent or Mediahuis account, you can easily link these two accounts via your RouteYou profile page on the website:
       Go to www.routeyou.com, then via your personal settings to "My profile". Or go to your profile page in the RouteYou app and select "manage my profile".
       Click on 'Connection with Irish Independent account'or'Connection with Irish Independent or Mediahuis account' at the bottom of the page, then choose to connect to Irish Independent or Mediahuis. Follow the steps as shown.




  2. USING THE SAME MAIL ADDRESS FROM MY IRISH INDEPENDENT OR MEDIA HOUSE ACCOUNT

    If you already have a RouteYou account linked to the same email address as your Irish Independent or Mediahuis account, we will detect this during sign-up.
       Go to 'Log in', choose 'Log in with Irish Independent or Irish Independent or Mediahuis newspaper' and fill in the correct data.

       We will then ask you if you would like to link your existing RouteYou account to your Irish Independent or Mediahuis account:

Yes No

If you wish to do this, click on the "Link Accounts" button. Choose your default login preference and confirm.

You now have several choices depending on the type of RouteYou account you have at the time of linking:

  • I have a RouteYou Free account
    You can use all RouteYou-Plus benefits for free straight away. 
  • I have a RouteYou trial subscription.
    You can continue to enjoy all the benefits of RouteYou-Plus after the trial period ends. 
  • I already have a RouteYou account subscription
    If you have 'automatic renewal' enabled, this will be canceled.
    Please note, if you pay for your RouteYou subscription via Apple, you must cancel automatic renewal yourself. We cannot do that from RouteYou. 
    You can continue to enjoy all the benefits of RouteYou Plus for free after your current RouteYou subscription runs out.

 

How to disconnect your RouteYou account from your Irish Independent or Irish Independent or Mediahuis login
  1. Go to your profile page on the RouteYou website
  2. Scroll until you seeavatar_logo.svgIrish Independent or Mediahuis_icon.png Connection with Irish Independent/Mediahuis
  3. Click and choose  unlink.png Disconnect from Irish Independent or Mediahuis

ATTENTION!
The next time you log in to RouteYou, you will need to use "Forgot Password" to set a password. Because when you disconnect from Irish Independent or Irish Independent or Mediahuis, RouteYou only has your email address and not your password.

 

  FAQ

I already have a RouteYou account but I can't remember the details. How can I still link this to my Irish Independent or Irish Independent or Mediahuis account?

If, when logging in with your Irish Independent or Irish Independent or Mediahuis account, we do not detect that a RouteYou account is already linked to that email address, then your RouteYou account is probably linked to a different email address. 

You have two choices:

  1. Link them via your RouteYou profile page on the website:
    Go to www.routeyou.com, then via your personal settings to "My profile". Or go to your profile page in the RouteYou app and select "manage my account".
    Click on 'Link to Irish' or Link Irish Independent or Mediahuis account' at the bottom of the page, then choose to link your account. Follow the steps as shown.

  2. Change the email address of your RouteYou account to that of your Irish Independent or Irish Independent or Mediahuis account. Then try to log in again using your newspaper account. We should now detect that you already have a RouteYou account and offer to link it. 
My Irish Independent or Mediahuis account and RouteYou account are linked, but I cannot find my routes?

It's possible you have two RouteYou accounts, each linked to a different email address. You may have linked your Irish Independent or Mediahuis account to the wrong RouteYou account.

I recently purchased a RouteYou subscription but now I can enjoy the benefits of a RouteYou Plus through my newspaper account. Can I get a refund?

Purchases can be canceled within the statutory period of 14 days. Once the statutory 14-day cooling-off period has expired, it is no longer possible to get a refund.
